Several storms brought moderate showers to the region this week, giving a decent start to what is typically the wettest month of the year in Southern California.
Storm totals from Monday through Wednesday averaged between 1/4 and 1/2 of an inch in most communities. Notable exceptions included Simi Valley and Lake Elsinore, where over an inch of rain fell. Rain was not nearly as heavy or long-lasting as during the torrential January storms. The first storm on Monday was the wettest, followed by unsettled weather and scattered showers on Tuesday and early Wednesday. WeatherCurrents contributors reported 0.44 inches in east Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas), 0.39 inches in East San Jacinto (courtesy of Monty Parrott), and 0.25 inches in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington).
Following a brief dry couple of days between storms, an additional storm was expected to arrive Friday. The storm is predicted to be weak and drop little rain.
